The Farming Division primarily produces alfalfa with rotating
crops including corn silage, barley hay, barley grain and oats. With
39 center pivots covering approximately 5,000 acres, the farm pro-
duces approximately 20,000 tons of alfalfa annually. Most hay is
sold via hay auction to dairies across the country as well as to horse
operations looking for premium hay.
Finally the outfitting program is diverse with elk, mule deer,
whitetail deer, antelope, bear and fishing. The Outfitting Division
is managed in house by licensed outfitter Dax McCarty.
While the Wagonhound has many state-of-the-art facilities,
much about the ranch has not changed since the 1800s...the cur-
rent owners have seamlessly blended time-honored values and tra-
ditions with the 21st century. Wagonhound’s philosophy empha-
size conservation as the way to preserve the land, wildlife, livestock
and the western way of life.
