Entries pour in for 6666 Ranch World Series of Cutting kickoff in Houston
Entries in the Non-Pro and Open classes at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo are up 33% and 25%,respectively, over last year as the show launches NCHA's new 6666 Ranch World Series of Cutting. Sponsored by 6666 Ranch , the World Series of Cutting gets started with a $25,000-added Open and $25,000-added Non-Pro event as part of the ever-popular NCHA-approved cutting at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo in March. The series continues with big added-money events at the Calgary Stampede, All American Quarter Horse Congress and the American Royal in Kansas City. All money for these special events will count toward the 2009 NCHA World Champion titles.
The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo cutting has attracted a total of 820 entries, reported Stacy Mahurin. "We're seeing horses come through and people come through that we've not seen in awhile," she said.
"With the generous support of the 6666 Ranch, the World Series of Cutting is off to a great start," said NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper. "The Series provides greater opportunities for our members, exciting competition for spectators, and a tremendous attraction for the participating shows. We look forward to continued growth in the program through the year, and into the future."
